SO! My travels for the day (06/11/08):
I woke up at 9:30, showered got dressed, after some fighting my dad drops me off on E161st. I walk over to the Court House on E161st and Grand Concourse. Go inside, this lady brushes me off before I even open my mouth, another lady saw and she was nice, told me where to go to find out where I am. So then, I walk two blocks down to 198 E161st, which is the address I was originally given. It's the probation office. The security gaurd was ok, he told me to go to the help desk. I go..the lady....mad nasty...eventually told me, the meeting I was looking for isn't here. Mind you, the whole time everyone thought I was meeting with my probation officer. Oh..the dangerous places I go...
Anyways, I cross the street, to the Criminal Court. Two gaurds outside...again..nasty...told me I had to go inside and talk to one of the officers (I'm thinking: then what the hell are you?) I go inside, the guy was really nice, and sweet, and cute
He tried to help me, there was yet another court house around the corner, the Family Court. I was like..never mind, I give up. He was like, are you sure? I could get you inside and try to find out... I thanked him and left. Now...I'm walking down Grand Concourse...I call Ancy...I'm all the way down to Park Ave, then Elton Ave, looking for a train station in vain. I was about to turn around, but I was like....I'm alllll the way down here...and its allll the way over therrrreee. Then Elton starts curving, I'm following lalalalalalala. Talking to Ancy, blah blah blah. Some how I ended up on 167th and Third Avenue with water in my shoe.
Lol, then she gets on the computer to help me, but guess what? She can't find me...
I see random buses passing. I'm not good with buses, but at this point I didn't care. I saw Bx 55, Bx6, Bx21,Bx 31 (No clue how to use any of them) She told me find Boston. Me; If I find Boston Rd. I might as well walk home...
So! I turn around, walking down Third Ave. Then me and Ancy hang up because my cousin called. Now she's trying to help me, I pass 166, 165.. She's asking the people at her job if there are any trains near by, mind you she's not suppose to be on the phone.. The closest one they knows is 138th and Third Avenue. But then Ancy and I saw 149th-Grand Concourse. I told my cousin, whatever, Im gonna walk. So I hang up with her, and call Ancy back. Now..Ancy found me on the map, lol, but I moved. Through all this walking and talking and lostness, I walked to Boston Rd.-Third Ave-164th (a three way cross section) Now Ancy's is explaining a 'v' to me because the streets makes a 'v'. I'm suppose to walk down one side, cross where it meets and walk up the other side, along Boston Rd. I do it, then I'm like Ancy...I'n going back the way I came...just on the other side of the street...
In the end..I was like..screw it, I'm walking to 149th. This whole time, I'm walking and talking, didn't drink a single drop of water, and I didn't eat anything that morning. I know, I don't usually eat anyway, but it was hot, you'd think I'd change. So, I'm walkng, calling out each street to her as I get to it, 165th-Third Ave, 164th-Third Ave, 163rd-Third Ave, etc. All the while, she's trying to find out which train is at the 149th-Third Ave train station. Guess what? It's the 2 4 and 5. But then, she said the 5 goes to Nereid because Dyre wasn't even on the map. So we decided, I'd walk down to 149th, along Third Ave., make a right on 149th and walk up to Grand Concourse, take that 5 train home because it ends at Dyre. I keep walking, lol, still calling out the streets to her, then I saw stores, Pretty Girl, Denice etc.
I ignnored them. Eventually got to 149th, then turned. At this point, I got to Lincoln hospital, but Ancy had to leave, but she said call her back when I get to Grand Concourse. We hang up, I call Krystle (I don't like walking by myself) She FINALLY answers.....and we talk all the way up to Grand Concourse, then I didn't know which way thingy to go down. I knew I was going uptown, but which one is uptown??? I call Ancy back, tell her I'm there, lol, but she didn't know either. So..I bought a Pepsi, took a chance and went down one. Apparently, it didn't really matter, I just had to pay attention to the signs once I was down there.
Now! I'm in the train station....I go to the uptown platform, standing lalala *sip* lalala *slurp* I see 4 in a green circle, and when I was going down the stairs I saw 2 in a red circle and 5 in a green circle. But now all I see are 4's. *Me worried* I hang around for a couple of minutes, a 4 comes..the platform clears out.....With everyone gone..I saw more stairs...Apparently I had to go down further for the 5 train. Ok, I go down the stairs, now I'm on the platform for the 2 and 5 train. Three 2's come ON THE OTHER side and no 5. 10mins later...a 5 train comes. I kinda randomly got annoyed because the 5 was red on the train and it's green on all the signs, but I'm just weird.
I get on the train, yay! I'm going home! "*beep boop* The next stop is. E149th St- Third Ave" Me: *sighs* "What am I going to tell Ancy"
By E180th, I text my cousin, tell her I'm fine, call my dad tell him I'm coming home. Then, I got bored and peoples were staring at me again, so I pull out my notebook and start drawing a random cartoon that I thought was hilarious (i'll draw it better and show you guys later). When I finished that, I put the book away and finshed my soda, smilng to myself like an idiot because of the cartoon. I get off at Dyre. A guy almost jumps on me screaming "CAB! CAB! Want a cab?!" I ignore him, walk down to the Chinese food place, call krystle, order my food, and walk home, talking to her about my "Random Thoughts" page. I get home, come online, tell Ancy I'm home, call my dad and tell him, then call my mom and tell her.
That was my day, because now I'm online telling you all about it <('_')>
Random: Those of you who read this, don't get offended if I didn't call you, I just knew you were busy..<3
What I've learned:
1) No matter how nicely you're dressed, as long as you're young and you walk into a Court House, they'll think you did something.
2) If I ever need to go to Criminal or Family Court, or I have to speak to a Probabtion officer, I definately know where I'm going...
****3) You know you have one of the best people in the world as your friend if she's willing to stay on the phone with you through all this, help you find your way, and still have more to talk about!*****
