I need to expand on it, but it's what I have (for Willful Wisdom), not for a chapter, I was thinking put it as a prologue....no? Idk, message me about it

She hopped off the horse, clutching her recently bandaged abdomen and headed down the plank. The salty air brought tears to her eyes and her windblown hair swirled carelessly around her. She stopped a foot away from the agreed upon meeting place.
She would meet him, end it and return to her family. To her husband and baby girl. She had to terminate the relationship. It was best. They were both married with children. She loved him dearly, more than words could possibly express. She loved him and would remember him always. But, for all the reasons she loved him, there was one prevalent reason to let him go.
Her baby.
The tiny, fragile, beautiful bundle she gave birth to just two hours ago, now safely tucked away in the nursery. This would be her last mission and her last encounter with the love of her life.
Nimble fingers skimmed up her arms causing her to shiver with desire. He came. She shook herself mentally. Of course he came. He knew it was important and he would never disappoint her. Fear and joy coursed through her veins heating her blood.
She hated herself for wanting him. But, she knew, she knew she would hate herself more if she allowed anything to happen to her daughter.
She quietly turned towards him and he crushed his lips against hers. His large hands roughly groped at her outerwear pulling her closer. His tongue slipped between her lips and took a leisurely tour around her mouth before circling a couple of more times.
Her hands clasped around his neck and she threw herself into the kiss. This kiss, their final kiss. She poured her love, her heart, everything she had into their kiss.
When he finally pulled away, they were both breathing heavily.
“I love you” he said running a thumb along her cheek. She silently watched the breath misting between them. She loved him to and always will. However, if she said it now, if she said it out loud she would never be able to let him go. Instead, she buried her face in his chest, blocking out the world and let the tears freely fall.
He hugged her tightly against his chest. He couldn’t quite place it, but something was off. He loved the woman in his arms and knew she loved him as well. He loved everything about her. He loved her smile, her hair, the way her eyes lit up when he entered a room. He was absolutely sure of their love. Then he told her he loved her, not for the first time, but she looked on the verge of tears.
What happened? If that good for nothing husband of hers-
A flurry of footsteps broke into his thoughts and he wrapped his arms around her defensively. He was not going to let anything happen to her. Not now, not ever.
A shadow approached from the right and lunged at them. He threw her away from him and struggled with the assailant. They fell to the ground and rolled, punching and kicking at each other.
A shot rang out and her head snapped up. She paled and the wide eyed fear evident in her bright blue eyes ripped into his heart. His gaze dropped to where she was staring and he saw the blood gushing out of his chest. Not the enemy’s, not hers, but his own.
In an odd sense of irony, he smiled. If it had to be someone, at least it was him. His head fell back and she rushed towards him screaming. The attacker whirled around and for the second time that night, a shot rang out piercing the darkness. Her hand flew to her bodice. She stared down at it, sticky with her own fluid. She stumbled forward and collapsed on his body as the attacker fled into the night.
They stared into each other’s eyes silently.
“I love you.”
